There is a mirror at the top of the swing and she likes to look at herself.
Shayla is now sleeping through the night!! She has a regular routine. (I love routine, btw) She goes down about 8 or 9 and does not get back up until 6 or 7:00 a.m. How Wonderful!! (and I did not even have to add cereal to her milk, like some people advised me to do!) She still takes a bottle every two hours during the day and she is now up to 5 ozs at a feeding. I am going to have to buy big bottles... sniff sniff. She also has outgrown size 0 to 3 and she now wears 3-6 month size.... sniff sniff..... She is growing so fast she barely has time to wear all the clothes she has in each size!! Each new little milestone makes me sad, it all happens so fast.
She still has those arresting blue eyes. They are beautiful. I am just loving this baby. :) We just sit and look at her all the time. Babies are just amazing.

GLOW Ceremony
Alysha had her end of the year ceremony for her GLOW club. They all wear their sashes and get a pin for their accomplishments. (this is like girl scouts, but is a religious based group.) Alysha got seven pins this year. They all went swimming after the ceremony. Alysha had a great time.
That's my beautiful girl after she got her pins!

The sweetness - Almost 7 weeks
That Shayla is getting so big! She can almost roll over. She gets really close to going from her back to her side. She has also "officially" smiled. She has been smiling since she came into this world - ALOT - but just last week she started smiling in response to her paw paw talking to her. In fact, she smiles at him every time he talks to her. How Sweet!!
She has gotten into a good night routine. She goes to bed at the same time every night - about 9:00 my time - and sleeps for 4 to 6 hours!! How great is that? Then she will go 3 to 4 hours for the next bottle. That is a nice night, only getting up once. So, I am now an early morning person cause after that 5 or 6 a.m. bottle she reverts back to every two hours and does that all day. STILL!! I am ready for her bottles during the day to space out some, but I am not complaining. The night time sleep is golden.
I took her to the USCG Station for fathers day and she loved it there. She smiled and cooed and just put on a show up there. She likes new people and she loves to smile for them.
I would say it is going by fast, but it isn't. My pregnancy FLEW by, but now time seems to be dragging by ever so slowly. :) I am back in Florida with my mom and we will be here until Sunday, then it is back to Alabama for a few weeks. My mom is a great help!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

Its getting hot in here.....
The title is actually a song. It is a rap song, and not a nice one, so I won't link it. I have actually never heard it all, I just know the chorus, which talks about taking off your clothes..... hee hee
We have arrived in Alabama. Unfortunately, it was the worst drive up we have ever had. We got started out and noticed the A/C was not cooling very good. About an 45 minutes into the trip it was not cooling at all. In case you did not know, it was HOT today. We were sweating and miserable. The baby was also sweating and so very hot, so we stopped every 45 min to go into fast food places to cool off. What normally is a 4.5 hr trip turned into a 7 hour trip. That's right SEVEN hours. It was so MISERABLE. I have never been so hot! Mom has a temperature thing in her car and at one point in the trip it was 100 degrees outside. Holy crap! It never got below 95 degrees. We were just baking in that car. My sweet baby sweat alot.
On a positive note, she did not cry or fuss at all! When it got so hot and miserable the rest of us were whining, Shay was just laying there being so good. I just could not believe she did not cry. Shay has been the best baby, just laying around playing and entertaining herself all night. I cannot believe it. She apparently can handle the heat, it is the cold she is so sensitive too. She still cries when I wipe her cause the wipes are so cold. What a little trooper.

Have baby - will travel
The calvary arrived last saturday. (a.k.a - my mommy). It has been wonderful with my mom here to help me. I had developed a little bit of 'baby blues', as the books call it. I am feeling so much better now. We went down to my Aunt Sarah's house and I spent alot of time by the pool. It was wonderful! My Aunt's house is so relaxing and wonderful, my favorite place to go. Mom kept little Shay for me so I could work on my tan and swim in the pool. What a needed little vacation for the sleep deprived mommy. :)
Unfortunately, when we got there, Shayla decided to test out her lungs. The first day there she had the worst day she has ever had - EVER. She screamed and just could not be consoled. That poor sweet baby. She was better the second day, but she was still a little puny. We came home today and she has been a little angel. No fussing or crying, just happy peaceful shayla! What is that about? I am going to Dothan tomorrow to spend a week there with mom. I hope that Shay does great there, not like she did at my aunt's. I think maybe she had a tummy ache, but she feels better now..... at least I hope that is all it is. She might be a homebody like her big sister.
Off the subject of baby..... I know I need to change this page. As my family keeps reminding me, I am no longer the pregnant princess. I am hesitant to take all my pics off because they chronicle my tummy and that is the only place I have it down. I need to get the pics developed and write on them, so I can change my page, but I just don't have time for such things. That baby keeps me busy. When I change it, I want to completely overhaul it, new background and everything. sigh.... one day soon.
